Mark was previously a HR director for a global retail organisation. Having spent many years sourcing great people, he now spends his time sourcing great commercial properties. Jointly with his wife Clare, they both run Avail Properties and Commercial Property Sourcer.

Our Journey

You maybe looking for additional help and education on our experiences.  

We are not financial advisors so can not offer anything that maybe deemed as financial advice but our some of our experience maybe useful to you.  We realised late in life, if we invested our pensions into an 'normal' annuity it would not even pay the bills.  So we undertook this re-education to get a better return from those pension pots.

• How we became educated across most property strategies before committing to the ones we do.

• How we source good Commercial Property.

• We bought a VAT charity shop into a SIPP without paying VAT.

• Then moved to a SSAS linked to our business and became educated on being pension Trustees.

• We manage our own commercial property, including processing rent and VAT. ​

• We are drawing down an income from the SSAS.

• We are also educated in how to invest cash into a balanced stock portfolio that can give a better return than the commercial.  Both inside and outside of the SSAS.

• Things we do not have experience in currently is; Loan Backs and Joint Venture projects.
